Activities to do
The magnificent beaches of Finistère
200 meters from the campsite via a small path, enjoy the beautiful fine sand beach of Pors Ar Vag. Supervised in July and August. Also discover a little further:
- Pentrez beach in Saint Nic with its sumptuous cliffs dotted with caves.
- Saint Anne la Palud beach, a fine sand beach where sand yachting is practiced.
- The Ris page, a beautiful fine sand beach in a natural area with a view of Douarnenez.
Water activities
On the beach of Porz Ar Vag, one of the best surfing spots in the Bay of Douarnenez, the Plomodiern nautical activity club offers surfing lessons and trips in sea kayak and paddle, windsurfing and coastal walking.
Hiking on the GR34
Do you know one of the most emblematic French hiking trails? The GR34 or "customs trail" for those in the know, runs along the entire Breton coastline for over 1,800 km from Mont-Saint-Michel to the Gulf of Morbihan. Starting from the Goulit Ar Guer campsite, it offers over 16 km of hiking on the wild coast with breathtaking views of the ocean.
Fishing on foot and by line
On foot, explore the beaches and rocks at low tide to collect shells, or find some shrimps and crabs. By line, you can catch sea bass, pollack, sea bream or even mackerel, depending on the season and the tides.
The Menez-Hom
Brittany has its own mountain with Mount Menez Hom, one of the highest points in Brittany with its 330 meters of altitude. An extension of the Black Mountains, it dominates the Bay of Douarnenez and offers you an exceptional view of the entire region. This ancient sacred place is the starting point for various hiking or mountain biking trails as well as a popular site for paragliding. Continue the walk by visiting the Sainte-Marie-du-Menez-Hom chapel and the Pointe de Tal ar Grip.
The Névet wood
The Bois du Névet looks like a green setting in the heart of Brittany. It offers you an enchanted interlude if you love nature and tranquility. Ideal for a family walk or a quiet hike, this wood is also a place full of history, where Breton legends and mysteries mingle with the beauty of the undergrowth. Watch out for the korrigans!
Paul Coïc Cider House
It is impossible to separate Breton gastronomy from its bowl of cider. To learn more about this beverage, visit this family cider house that has been perpetuating artisanal know-how for several generations. During your visit, you will discover the secrets of manufacturing and taste a Breton cider with rich and fruity flavors.

Cities to see
Locronan
Locronan is a real gem nestled in the heart of Brittany, a 10-minute drive from Plomodiern. This picturesque village, listed among the "most beautiful villages in France", instantly transports you through the centuries thanks to its cobbled streets and magnificent granite houses dating from the Renaissance period. Locronan, labeled a small town of character, is also the starting point for many hiking trails.
Quimper
Quimper, a thousand-year-old city labeled "City of Art and History" is not lacking in charm and character. The historic capital of Cornouaille, it is renowned for its colorful half-timbered houses, its flower-filled quays along the Odet and its incredible heritage. Let yourself be seduced by the majestic Saint-Corentin Cathedral, a masterpiece of Gothic architecture, which dominates the historic heart of the city. Also don't miss the Museum of Fine Arts and its impressive collections, or the Quimper earthenware factory, a local know-how that has lasted for centuries.
Douarnenez
Douarnenez is a real Breton gem with a rich maritime past. Stroll through Port-Rhu, one of the oldest ports in France, where traditional boats float peacefully. Cross at low tide to Tristan Island, a wild place with pirate legends, perfect for a nature getaway. Don't miss the Port-Musée, where you can board authentic boats and discover the fascinating history of sailors from all over the world.
Crozon
Advancing into the Iroise Sea, the Crozon peninsula offers a summary of Brittany. Between dizzying cliffs and secret beaches, the peninsula at the end of the world offers you breathtaking landscapes. To see:
- The Port of Camaret with its lively quays and colorful houses, the Notre Dame de Rocamadour chapel and the Vauban tower.
- Cap de la Chèvre with its stunning panorama over Douarnenez Bay and its coastal path.
- The magnificent cove of Porz-Creguen.
- The Port of Morgat and its fishermen's houses.
- The tip of Pen-Hir and its 4 islets called the “Tas de pois”. With a peak at 70 meters, it is the most breathtaking.
